Event Description/Details
| Back by popular demand, we are planning a Cracker Barrel theme for our November Dinner Meeting. In case the Cracker Barrel term is new to you, here is a brief explanation. In the old days, crackers were shipped in barrels to country stores. When the barrels were empty, they were not thrown out. Instead, they were used as tables to hold checkerboards or, as we say, to hold court. Much like modern day water coolers or coffee machines. The format for the evening is a series of 3-30 minute round table discussions lead by a facilitator. This Cracker Barrel event offers the following table topics: - PMO Models - which one suits your organization? - Outsourcing - lessons learned from a Service Provider - PM vs BA roles - where are they coming from? - Process Improvements - whose process is it anyway? Making internal project improvements. - Practical Estimating - better approaches than just 'best guesses'! - Influencing Key Business Stakeholders - do's and don'ts - PMI Certification programs - what are they; whom would benefit most? - IT Infrastructure projects - why are they so difficult? We will be offering a variety of hors d'oeuvres and beverages throughout the evening, rather than a sit-down dinner. The cost for the dinner is $39 for members and $44 for non-members. Watch for an email invitation on Monday, November 3rd. |
