| Topic: How to win friends and influence people Based on the classic teachings from the book How to Win Friends and Influence People, this session from Dale Carnegie Training will show you ways to achieve enlightened interpersonal effectiveness. You'll gain a holistic perspective by looking at what triggers you, and how your attitude affects communication outcomes. You'll learn how to express your ideas in ways that are heard, and help you gain enthusiasm from managers, co-workers, peers, staff and clients. This session will show you how to communicate in ways that help others feel important and appreciated, and ultimately become better performers. You can improve your ability to get things done by learning how to flex your influence muscle, and persuade others to your way of thinking without leaving them feeling manipulated. Learn How To - Gain agreement and cooperation with others - Inspire confidence and trust by establishing credibility - Influence others even when you don't have authority - Recognize your hot buttons - Use attentive listening skills to help others to feel appreciated - Increase your 'likeability' by putting DCT's 9 principles into practice - Maintain your composure under pressure - Give constructive feedback without generating hostility - Engage others by building rapport - Use Emotional Intelligence to improve interpersonal relationships - Deal effectively with challenging individuals - Persuade others to your way of thinking - Change other people's behavior by changing your reaction to them PMConnect (Communitech limited partnership with Project Management Institute) Meetings on the 3rd Friday of every month Project managers come together to share knowledge and information to stay ahead of the curve within their fast-paced world. Sessions alternate between topics and themes from three content/curricular areas: soft skills in project management; towards best practices; and mission possible - the case study.
