| Carl Sergeant, Senior Consultant, Nexient Learning As a Project Management Professional Carl is certified by the Project Management Institute, and is an entrepreneurial, results focused executive with over 29 yrs of experience in building profitable growth in telecommunications and technology. He possesses a track record for developing and implementing new opportunities, building sustainable business success and improving operating efficiencies. He has successfully managed Project Management, Engineering, Contract and Service Management in a highly competitive market, including experience in strategy formulation and execution. Carl has been acknowledged as an exceptional customer relationship builder and strong communicator. He began his career installing residential telephones in 1980. With hard work and increasing responsibility he moved up in the organization to lead a staff of some 180 Project Managers, Executives and Directors. In early 2000, Carl joined a prominent international telecommunications company for 14 months to harmonize the company's Canadian project management and engineering arms. He has also led an extensive project management and outsourcing organization accountable for managing business customer contracts that generated half a billion dollars of revenue each year. With his extensive project management experience, Carl has developed an in depth and broad perspective of the entire project management industry. The industry's own Project Management Institute recently honoured Carl as one of the fifty most powerful and influential project management professionals in the world. He also had a feature article published in PM Network magazine that highlighted his "people come first" approach to business. Carl actually enjoys public speaking and has been a speaker at many project management industry events. He has shared his views from leading project complexity, managing programs and portfolios to project communications and building a PMO all while highlighting the importance of putting people first in managing projects. |
