Event Description/Details
| Project teams have become the preeminent way progress happens in organizations so their effectiveness is a top business imperative. And yet, many project teams fail, or fail to work well. Why is this? Fifty years research into developing tools and techniques for running projects smoothly means we know how to gather requirements properly, write specification documents efficiently, establish a solid project charter, and, actively manage scope, key resources and precious timelines. But all this overlooks one crucial fact: projects live or die on how well the people work together as a team. This session will give you new insight into project team dynamics and why they are both more challenging and more critical than regular teams, and will provide AHA's that can shift the way you think about performance management and talent development. You may be surprised what you can add to your PM tool kit! Learning Objectives: Learn why project teams are very different from regular teams, and what it means to your organization Discover the most common problems that cause project teams to fail Adopt a shared new language about roles and skills Troubleshoot the challenges inherent in project teams head on and be equipped with the knowledge, tools, and techniques to help mitigate or pre empt them Learn how to enable project teams to become higher functioning more quickly |
